Newborn FAQ

Here you can find answers for the most asked questions about session! If you’d like to ask for anything else – feel free to send me a message!

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY NEWBORN SESSION?

The best time to book is as soon as you have a due date!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR MY BABY’S NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

Newborns photoshoots must be done when babies are less than 12 days new. After this small window of time has passed, newborns tend to lose the ability to curl into the sleepy poses that you see in my portfolio. For this reason, it’s very important to book your newborn photo session as early as possible when you are still pregnant. Whilst I do my best to fit in last minute bookings, I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to fit your baby in during this small window of time.

HOW LONG DOES A NEWBORN SESSION LAST?

Newborns are very unpredictable and require lots of time and attention for feeding and comforting. I never rush my newborn sessions and will follow your baby’s lead at all times. Typically newborn sessions take 3 hours to get a variety of different setups as well as parent, family and sibling images.

DO YOU OFFER AT HOME SESSIONS?

Sorry, but I don’t offer in-home sessions as I am unable to bring all of my specialised newborn photography equipment and props.

WHAT IF MY BABY ARRIVES EARLY/LATE?

Don’t worry! To ensure that I have plenty of flexibility in my calendar I only schedule a maximum of 3 newborn due dates per week. Your due date is treated as a tentative session date in my calendar to prevent too many booking around the time that your baby is expected. Once your baby arrives, I do ask that you get in touch with me within 24 hours by sending me a message.

DO YOU PROVIDE A BACKDROPS AND PROPS

Yes, I will provide all fabric, backdrops and props. I even have a nappies, wet wipes, so you don’t need to be worried about anything!

DO YOU INCLUDE PHOTOS WITH PARENTS AND SIBLINGS?

Yes, it’s very important part of session for me!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR FAMILY PHOTOS?

Neutral tone clothing (black/white/cream/gray) is best.
